Abstract:
A pattern or the like is drawn by partially decolorizing the surface of cloth after ground dyeing. In particular, the surface of cloth is furnished with protrudent portions (5) and depressed portions (6, 6a) providing the original form of pattern or the like by embossing. The depressed portions (6) have complex configuration including narrow and long portions (6a) having penetrated in the interior of the protrudent portions (5). The entirety of top surface of protrudent portions (5) and wide area regions of depressed portions (6) are decolorized, so that fine pattern or the like appears due to shading made by decolorized portions and non-decolorized portions. The decolorization operation is performed by when the cloth is dipped in a decolorizing solution, sliding a soft scratching tool on the surface of the cloth while maintaining a facial contact therebetween.
