Abstract:
The present application relates to a clothing treatment apparatus comprising: a drum comprising a drum body which is formed in a cylindrical shape having opened both surfaces facing each other, a front cover which is provided to close one opened surface of the drum body to form the front surface of the drum body, a rear cover which is provided to close the other opened surface of the drum body to form the rear surface of the drum body, and a drum inlet port which is formed through the front cover and is in communication with the inside of the drum body; a fixing panel provided at a position spaced apart from the rear cover; a power transmission unit provided with a housing fixed to the fixing panel, an input shaft of which one end is located outside the housing and the other end is located inside the housing, an output shaft which passes through the fixing panel so that one end thereof is fixed to the rear cover and the other end is located inside the housing, and a gear unit which is located in the housing and transfers the rotating movement of the input shaft to the output shaft; and a motor provided with a stator which is fixed to the fixing panel or the housing and forms a rotating magnetic field, and a rotor to which one end of the input shaft is fixed and which is rotated by the rotating magnetic field, wherein the drum body, the rear cover, and the front cover are formed of a same material, and the thickness of the drum body is less than the thickness of the rear cover and the thickness of the front cover.
