Provided are a clothing treatment device (1000) and a control method therefor, wherein the clothing treatment device comprises a drying mechanism (2), a clothing folding machine (1) and a conveying mechanism (3), and is further provided with a master control system (4) and a communication module (5, 6). The control method comprises: after clothes are dried, the clothing treatment device drives the conveying mechanism to convey a clothing hanger carrying the clothes of the drying mechanism to a clothing inlet of the clothing folding machine. The master control system can obtain information through the communication module and control the drying mechanism and the clothing folding machine based on the information, and can also obtain external environment information through a sensor and move the clothes based on the external environment information. The clothing treatment device saves on time for a user and satisfies the requirements of different mounting spaces; and whether the clothes are dried can be independently judged, and as such, user remote operation is more intelligent and convenient.
