Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of cloud computing energy saving, and in particular to a cloud data center energy saving method and system based on container control. The method comprises: detecting, in real time, whether there is a server in an overloaded state; if there is a server in the overloaded state, calculating a numerical value by which the utilization rate of the server in the overloaded state is expected to be reduced; on the basis of the numerical value by which the utilization rate is expected to be reduced, selecting an optional container deactivation policy, so as to deactivate a corresponding optional container; and switching an idle server to a low-power-consumption mode, so as to reduce the power consumption. In the present invention, an optional container deactivation policy is selected according to a numerical value by which the utilization rate is expected to be reduced, so as to deactivate a corresponding optional container, and the deactivation of the optional container enables an idle server to be switched to a low-power-consumption mode, so as to reduce the power consumption. In the present application, a server can dynamically switch off an optional container according to an operation state, such that the pressure of the server is alleviated in the case of overloading, an energy saving effect is achieved, and the aim of reducing the total energy consumption of a cloud data center is achieved.
