Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a drying device (1) that heats and dries coal prior to dry distillation of the coal; and a scrubber (32) that processes carrier gas that has been discharged from the drying device (1) together with desorption components desorbed from the coal when the coal is dried by the drying device (1). The present invention also comprises a carrier gas circulation path (22) that guides the carrier gas that has been processed by the scrubber (32), towards the drying device (1). In addition a cyclone (28) is provided on the upstream side of the scrubber (32). As a result, mercury and/or mercury-based matter generated by the drying device can be removed.
