Abstract:
A coated cutting tool characterized in: having a hard coating that is a nitride having an Al content of at least 60 atom%, a Cr content of at least 10 atom%, and a combined Al/Cr content ratio of at least 90 atom% in relation to the total amount of metal elements that also includes semimetals; the peak intensity caused by an fcc structure exhibiting maximum intensity in X-ray diffraction; the hard coating being composed of an aggregation of columnar particles grown in the film thickness direction; and the value of the X-ray diffraction intensity ratio TC (311) of the hard coating being at least 1.30. Also provided are a manufacturing method and a chemical vapor deposition device for applying the nitride as a coating.
