Abstract:
A coated cutting tool according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a base material and a hard film formed on the base material. The hard film is a nitride in which, with respect to the total amount of metal elements (including semimetals), contains 60-70 at% Al, 20-40 at% Ti, and 1-10 at% of at least one element selected from among W, Cr, Ta, Nb, Zr, Mo, and V, and which, with respect to the total amount of metal elements (including semimetals), elemental nitrogen, and elemental Ar, contains 0.01-0.15 at% Ar. The crystal structure of the hard film is a face-centered cubic lattice structure. The half-width of the X-ray diffraction peak of a (111) face is 0.75-0.95°.
