Abstract:
Coated magnetic particle containing preparations that are capable of selective delivery (targeting potency) to a tumor region, and that not only can find application in contrast materials and drug carriers but also can be used in thermotherapy utilizing heat generation and further in cancer diagnosis and therapy utilizing a combination thereof; and a process for producing the same. There are provided coated magnetic particle containing preparations comprising magnetic particles coated with a lipid film, characterized in that the magnetic particles contain gold particles, the gold particles containing an organic compound, and that the magnetic particles coated with a lipid film satisfy the mathematical formula: 0.02≤R/(r×100)≤0.30 wherein R is the average particle diameter of coated magnetic particles and r is the average particle diameter of magnetic particles.
