Abstract:
Disclosed is a coating agent for a DF coater, which enables the production of a printed paper with a DF coater, is particularly inexpensive, and enables the improvement in whiteness of a coated surface. Specifically disclosed is a coating agent for a DF coater, which is intended to be fallen in the form of a curtain-like film onto the surface of a coating paper that is fed at a high speed with a DF coater to thereby coat the coating paper, wherein an high-aspect-ratio clay is contained in an amount of 5 to 30 parts by weight as a pigment and calcium carbonate is also contained in an amount of 70 to 95 parts by weight, and wherein particles of calcium carbonate having particle diameters smaller than 2 μm make up 90% or more of all of the particles of calcium carbonate.
