Abstract:
A coating composition which can impart low-friction performance without impairing the functions of conventional coating compositions, etc.; a coating film formed from the composition; and a method of reducing underwater friction which uses the composition. The coating composition contains organic-polymer particles which have a solubility in artificial seawater at 23°C as provided for in ASTM D1141-98 of 15 g/L or lower and an artificial-seawater absorption as provided for in ASTM D1141-98 of 0.01 mass% or larger and have a particle diameter of 0.05-100 µm.
