Abstract:
A coating layer (13) formed on a sliding surface (12) of a workpiece (11) by coating said surface with a powder paint according to a powder coating method, said paint containing 2 to 4 wt % molybdenum disulfide, 12 to 25 wt % polytetrafluoroethylene and a balance of a polyimide resin for use in powder coating, said resin having been subjected to a treatment for enabling the softening of a resulting coating layer, a treatment for prolonging gel time of the powder paint, and a treatment for decreasing the softening point of the powder paint. This coating layer serves to improve heat resistance, creep resistance, high surface pressure resistance, and impact strength, and can be applied to a wide variety of sliding members such as spherical sliding bearing and pins for various pivots.
