Provided is a code pattern recording device capable of improving design characteristics of a recording medium. The code pattern recording device is provided with a printer (16) which is capable of printing upon a character card (KC), as optically readable optical information, a two-dimensional bar code (QR) which has been created in compliance with a predetermined specification so that information related to a game result is embedded, and which, on the basis of image data for printing the optical information upon the character card (KC), prints the optical information upon the character card (KC). In addition, the code pattern recording device generates, as optical recording data, post-conversion data for expressing a black/white-inverted two-dimensional bar code (NB) in which the two-dimensional bar code (QR) has been converted with a predetermined procedure, and outputs the post-conversion data to the printer (16) so that the black/white-inverted two-dimensional bar code (NB) will be printed upon the character card (KC) as optical information.
