The present disclosure relates to the technical field of communications. Provided are a codebook-based uplink channel sending method and apparatus. The method comprises: determining a codebook which matches the number of antenna ports of an uplink channel sent by a terminal device, wherein there are a plurality of antenna ports of the uplink channel, and the polarization directions of the plurality of antenna ports are the same; performing pre-coding processing on the uplink channel using codewords in the codebook; and sending to a network device the uplink data channel that has been subjected to pre-coding processing. Thus, when there are a plurality of uplink sending antenna ports and the polarization directions thereof are the same, a codebook matching the number of antenna ports of an uplink channel sent by a terminal device can be determined, and the uplink data channel that has been subjected to pre-coding processing using codewords in the codebook can be sent to a network device. Performing uplink transmission on the basis of a codebook can realize spatial multiplexing of uplink channel pre-coding, and effectively increases the rate of uplink channel transmission, thereby increasing the communication efficiency.
