Abstract:
A coding method and apparatus, a decoding method and apparatus, and a data transmission method, which relate to the technical field of communications, and are used for reducing the bit error rate when coding and decoding are performed by using PAM3. The method comprises: coding three-bit data [A, B, C] to be coded, so as to obtain a coded four-bit parity signal [S1, S2, S3, S4], which satisfies: S1 = A·(B + C), (I), and generating PAM3 signals of two UIs according to the coded four-bit parity signal and sending the PAM3 signals; and acquiring the PAM3 signals of the two UIs, determining a decoded four-bit parity signal according to the PAM3 signals, and decoding the decoded four-bit parity signal according to preset decoding logic, so as to obtain the three-bit data, wherein the preset decoding logic can ensure that when a bit error occurs in one UI, a bit error at most occurs in two bits of data in the three-bit data obtained by means of decoding. Therefore, compared with a bit error at most occurring in three bits of data in the related art, the present invention has a smaller bit error rate.
