Abstract:

Provided is a coil spring assembly which can prevent damage to a coil spring when a wide-diameter portion of a seat member is press-fitted into the spring and prevent said portion from interfering with the coil spring after press-fitting, while reliably preventing detachment of the seat member. A seat member 5 is provided with a seat portion 19 where a receiving surface 19a makes contact with the seat surface 11a of an end-turn portion 11, an attachment shaft 21 protruding from the receiving surface 19a of the seat portion 19, and a wide-diameter portion 23 for guiding press-fitting and formed on the tip of the attachment shaft 21. In a cross section of a coil spring 3 in the axial direction, the outer diameter a of the wide-diameter portion 23 is set to be larger than the inner diameter d of the end-turn portion 11, and the axial direction length ta of the wide-diameter portion 23 is set such that at least the maximum opposing corner direction length Smax of the seat member 5 is larger than the inter-wire distance A of the spring.
