Title:
COIN PROCESSING DEVICE AND COIN PROCESSING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/050107
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Coins (100) are conveyed one by one, and a slit-patterned light that has passed through a slit pattern (113), in which a first region through which a first color component passes and a second region through which a second color component passes are alternately arranged, is emitted. A camera (115) captures an image of a coin onto which the slit-patterned light has been emitted, and a color separation unit (211) separates the imaging result into the first color component and the second color component. A height calculation unit (213) generates height evaluation data from changes in a slit pattern shape in the image data for the first color component and changes in a slit pattern shape in the image data for the second color component, and obtains three-dimensional measurement data for the coin. An assessment unit (206) assesses the authenticity of the coin and/or the type (denomination) and/or whether the coin is normal or damaged on the basis of the three-dimensional measurement data.
