Title:
COIN SORTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2007043110
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
In a coin sorter, the downstream side of a chute (140) corresponding to at least one sorting hole (5c) is branched to first and second chutes (141, 142) that lead coins discharged from the sorting hole (5c) to first and second containing sections, respectively. Further, the coin sorter has a route switchover mechanism (9) for switching routes for coins discharged from the sorting hole (5c), where the switchover is made between two chutes. Coins having denominations to be discharged by the sorting hole (5c) are subjected to the following control: (i) The route for coins discharged from the sorting hole is switched from the first chute (141) to the second chute (142) at sufficient timing accuracy which allows the last coin (CN) to be received in the first containing section to enter the first chute (141). (ii) Of coins following the last coin (CN), coins (CN+1, CN+2) arriving at a discharge mechanism (6a) before the switchover of the route are all discharged by the (CN).
