Abstract:
A cold-generating apparatus according to one aspect of this invention comprises a cold-generating unit (2), a radiator (40) and a heat accumulator (43). The cold-generating unit generates low-temperature heat having a lower temperature than high-temperature heat on the basis of high-temperature heat input from the outside, and generates intermediate-temperature heat having a temperature between the high-temperature heat and the low-temperature heat, on the basis of the generation of the low-temperature heat. The radiator radiates intermediate-temperature heat to the outside of the system. The heat accumulator stores intermediate-temperature generated by the cold-generating unit, and discharges the stored heat. The cold-generating device is equipped with a heat accumulator which can store waste heat from the cold-generating unit, making it possible to curb fluctuations in the quantity of heat radiated by the radiator. As a result of this configuration, it is possible to reduce the quantity of heat radiated by the radiator by the amount of heat stored by the heat accumulator from the amount of heat discharged by the cold-generating unit, if the quantity of heat discharged by the cold-generating unit is great. Thus, it is sufficient to design the radiator according to the amount of heat reduced by the heat accumulator, and it is possible to make the radiator more compact.
