Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a collapsible viewing assist device that can be collapsed into a compact wieldy size and of which the housing can easily assume a box shape from the collapsed state, just as assembling an ordinary cardboard box. [Solution] A collapsible viewing assist device according to the present invention has a rectangular housing formed from a foldable planar material, wherein: the housing has a front surface on a side facing a viewer, a rear surface on which an electronic device having a prescribed display portion is detachably installed, a top surface, a bottom surface, and right and left lateral surfaces; either one of a pair formed by the top surface and the bottom surface or a pair formed by the right and left lateral surfaces is folded along creases during folding performed before assembly, and the other pair has a first locking piece which is folded and inserted in the inner side of the front surface or the rear surface for use, thereby allowing the housing to be readily built up into a box shape.
