Abstract:
Opposed support surfaces (2c, 63b) of a clamping nut (2) and a clamping ring (63), which have a V-shaped cross section, support a wedge-shaped collet (5), which is capable of extending and contracting in a diametrical direction, has a tapered surface (5c) on its outer diameter and is V-shaped in cross section, and a taper ring (60) is provided to be fitted onto an outer periphery of the collet (5). When an article (T) being clamped is to be mounted, an operating ring (67) is turned in a direction of clamping to effect axial movements of the taper ring (60) in a direction, in which an outer diameter of the collet (5) is contracted, and simultaneously the clamping nut (2) is screwed onto a male thread (1a) of a spindle (1) to clamp the article (T) being clamped, to a clamping body. In order to remove the article being clamped, the operating ring (67), which is easy to turn, is first turned in a direction of loosening to move the taper ring (60) axially to release contraction of the diameter of the collet (5) to release a clamping force in an axial direction to make turning of the clamping nut (2) easy, and then the article (T) being clamped is removed. With such fastener, clamping and loosening of large clamping forces can be provided by hand and fingers without the use of any exclusive tool.
