Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a colorant and an aqueous pigment dispersion, which are excellent in dispersion stability in a solvent such as water or an organic solvent and can be used for producing ink capable of forming records such as a high-optical-density image. The present invention relates to a colorant characterized by containing a reaction product of a compound (A) and a pigment (B), wherein the compound (A) has an acid group or acid anhydride group, and a hydrolysable silyl group or silanol group, and the pigment (B) includes a functional group(b) having a reactivity to the hydrolysable silyl group or silanol group.
