Description:
"Colouring set"

Field of the invention

The present invention regards colouring tool, in particular of the manual type, and it specifically regards a manual colouring set for colour blind users.

Background of the invention

Colouring tools, whether consisting of colouring pencils, pens, felt-pens, crayons, spray canisters and the like, conventionally have a body and a writing part configured for applying a coloured mark on a writing medium. For example, in the case of the coloured pencil, the writing part consists of the tip of a lead incorporated in the body, and in the case of the felt- pen the writing part consists of a felt soaked with ink contained in the body which serves as a reservoir. Typically, the body, or at least an indicator thereof, is of the same colour as that of the writing tip, so as to allow the user to instantly select the tool of the desired colour.

However, there is a problem related to use of writing tools thus made by the users affected by colour blindness, i.e. a condition of altered colour perception .

A colour-blind user notoriously perceives a given colour as a different one as compared to the actual one. For example, a colour-blind person perceives a red colour as brown, violet colour as blue, sky-blue colour as pink, etc.

The first colour is perceived by a colour-blind person as a second colour different from the first colour .

Thus, this different perception creates confusion and difficulty for the colour-blind person when it comes to identifying a writing tool of the colour he/she actually wants to use.

State of the art

The solutions proposed up to now to enable a colour-blind person to perceive colours just like a non-colour-blind person would, consist in auxiliary devices such as optical correction systems or visors using special lenses. Such solutions are complex, costly, poorly practical and they do not even guarantee an efficient result.

Summary of the invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a solution that is simple, practical and functional enabling colour-blind people to correctly select and use - whenever required - the desired colouring tool, i.e. the one whose writing part, perceived as a different colour with respect to the actual one by the colour-blind person, corresponds to the desired colour, without requiring auxiliary optical correction devices.

According to the invention, this object is achieved thanks to the invention idea of providing manual colouring tools whose body, or the indicator carried by the body, has a different colour as compared to that of the writing tip and corresponds to the one perceived by the colour-blind person as that of the writing tip.

More in particular, the invention regards a colouring set comprising manual tools of different colours each of which comprises a body with possible indicator and writing part of a first colour which is perceived by a colour-blind person as a second colour different from the first colour, whose distinctive characteristic lies in the fact that the body of each tool, or the related indicator, is of the respective second colour.

Thus, for example, the body of a coloured pencil with a red lead will be brown, that of a blue-tipped felt-pen will be violet, that of a yellow-inked highlighter will be lime green, and so on and so forth.

Detailed description of the invention

By way of example, a manual colouring tool for colour blind users according to the invention may consist in a pencil having, in an entirely unusual manner, a body containing a coloured lead whose tip projects from the end of the body.

The body, i.e. the indicator of the body for example located on the other end of the body is conventionally of the same colour as the writing tip ( first colour) .

According to the invention, the body of the pencil, i.e. the indicator thereof, has a different colour with respect to that of the writing tip, i.e. different from the first colour, and it is specifically the one (second colour) that a colour-blind person perceives as that of the writing tip.

Thus, an example of matching between the first and the second colour can generally be as follows:

red=brown, blue=violet, light green=beige, dark green=dark brown, dark brown=dark green, light brown= green, brown=ochre, yellow=lime green, violet=blue, sky-blue=pink, pink=grey, grey=sky-blue .

Thus, the body (or the indicator) of the red pencil will be brown, that of the blue pencil will be violet, that of the light green pencil will beige, and so on and so forth. The set according to the invention will for example be formed by a box containing the pencils of the colours indicated above.

Obviously, the aforementioned matching is not exhaustive at all, in that there are several colours, tones and shades different from those listed above and each one of which will have a matching one for colour blind people.

Furthermore, even though the example described herein refers to a coloured pencil, the invention can also advantageously apply to any manual tool, and others, such as for example pens, felt-pens, crayons, spray canisters and the like.
