Title:
COMBUSTION CONTROL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1980/000608
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A control circuit for controlling combustion of burners of hot water boilers, warm-wind heaters and the like, in which a sequential control function is provided for continuing spark discharge operations for igniting fuel during a predetermined time period after the burner is first ignited. Combustion control systems are usually so designed that the igniting operation is discontinued by a safety timer unless the burner is ignited during a certain safety time period. However, it is further required that the discontinuation of igniting operation is secured even when the safety timer is out of order. To accomplish this while utilizing fewer timers, in addition to the safety timer there is independently provided another timer for measuring the time which is elapsed after the start of the igniting operation. Both the timers are started simultaneously, and when the igniting operation fails to ignite the burner the additional timer operates to shut fuel valves off.
