Abstract:
The present invention provides a combustion state detection device for an internal combustion engine whereby misfiring can be detected regardless of the fuel type. The combustion state detection device for an internal combustion engine comprises an electrical discharge feature amount acquisition unit and a determination unit. The electrical discharge feature amount acquisition unit acquires an electrical discharge feature amount on the basis of a voltage value or a current value of an ignition coil connected to a spark plug. The spark plug implements a spark discharge for ignition to ignite an air-fuel mixture and a spark discharge for detection in the same engine cycle after the spark discharge for ignition. Furthermore, the determination unit determines whether the internal combustion engine is in a misfired state or a non-misfired state on the basis of a comparison result between the electrical discharge feature amount of the spark discharge for detection and a prescribed determination threshold value.
