Abstract:
A communication adapter that serves as a relay between a communication unit (1) and communication cables (3) in a daisy-chain communication network. A first cable connector (5) and a second cable connector (6) are mounted on said communication adapter. Each of said cable connectors supports a communication cable provided with the following: a plug (8) that can be plugged into a standardized connector; and a connecting wire. Each cable connector is provided with a shield that can be connected to the connecting wire in a communication cable. This communication adapter is provided with a conductor that comprises the following: a connecting pathway from the communication unit to pins inside the first cable connector; and a connecting pathway from the communication unit to pins inside the second cable connector. This communication adapter is also provided with a conductor that comprises the following: a connecting pathway from a connecting wire in the communication unit to the shield provided on the first cable connector; and a connecting pathway from the connecting wire in the communication unit to the shield provided on the second cable connector.
