A communication apparatus achieved as a video communication apparatus (1) comprises a communication control part (2) that establishes a communication connection with another communication apparatus; a content receiving part (6) that externally acquires a content data; and a content transmitting part (8) that determines, if the other communication apparatus, with which the communication connection has been established when the content receiving part (6) acquires the content data, being consistent, that the other communication apparatus is a communication apparatus to which the acquired content data is to be transmitted. Therefore, the present communication apparatus can readily share the externally acquired content data with the other communication apparatus with which the communication connection has been established. In this way, the externally acquired content data can be readily transmitted to the apparatus at the other end of communication. That is, a communication apparatus can be achieved which can readily share an externally acquired content data with another communication apparatus.
