Abstract:
An M-RN has a UE function section for setting up an RRC connection to an eNB over a backhaul link, and an eNB function section for setting up an RRC connection to a UE over an access link. In an RRC_CONNECTED state in which an RRC connection to an eNB has been set up, the UE function section detects interruption of the backhaul link. In a stage subsequent to having detected interruption of the backhaul link, but prior to transitioning to an RRC_IDLE state in which the RRC connection to the eNB is released, the UE function section transitions to an RRC_SEMI-IDLE state in which it is attempted to restore the backhaul link while maintaining the RRC connection to the eNB. During the interval that the UE function section is in the RRC_SEMI-IDLE state, the eNB function section performs control in order to maintain the RRC connection to the UE (300).
