Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to, when it is estimated that a device capable of receiving an advertisement of a larger size is present within a communication range, transmit an advertisement packet of the larger size, thereby transmitting an advertisement packet of a target size with smaller power consumption. For this purpose, this communication device transmits an advertisement packet, and comprises: a first transmission unit which transmits a first advertisement packet using a first frequency band; a determination unit which, when receiving a request packet for the first advertisement packet transmitted by the first transmission unit, determines on the basis of the request packet whether or not an external device capable of receiving a second advertisement packet of a size larger than the size of the first advertisement packet is present in a communication range; and a second transmission unit which, when the result of determination by the determination unit indicates presence, transmits the second advertisement packet using a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.
