Disclosed are a communication method and apparatus for use in realizing communication between a sending end and a receiving end via multiple interfaces in a multicast scenario. A first terminal device receives first data from a second terminal device via a first channel, the first data comprising a first data packet and first indication information; the first channel is borne on a first radio interface, such as a PC5 interface; the first terminal device receives second data multicast by a wireless network device via a second channel, the second data comprising a second data packet and second indication information, and the data packet coming from the second terminal device; the second channel is borne on a second radio interface, such as a Uu interface or the PC5 interface; the first indication information and the second indication information are respectively mapped to third indication information, the third indication information indicating a multicast service; the first terminal device can determine that the first data packet and the second data packet come from the same terminal device and belong to the same service, and data convergence processing is performed on the first data packet and the second data packet on a convergence protocol layer entity.
