Abstract:
Disclosed is a communication method that is applicable to a base station. The method of the embodiments of the present application comprises: acquiring first information; and if the first information satisfies a first switching condition, switching from a narrow beam state to a wide beam state, wherein the narrow beam state indicates sending a message by means of using N narrow beams to scan a target area, and N is an integer greater than zero; and the wide beam state indicates sending the message by means of using M wide beams to scan the target area, and M is an integer greater than zero. The base station in the embodiments of the present application can reduce the duration for which a beam is transmitted, such that the symbol shut-down profit of the base station can be improved.
