Abstract:
The present application provides a communication method and apparatus, relating to the field of communications, and in particular to the field of multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMSs). The communication method comprises: a main control unit receiving a first data packet sent by a core network device; the main control unit sending first data included in the first data packet and first time information of the first data to a slave unit; and the slave unit sending the first data to a terminal according to a sending time indicated by the first time information. In the embodiments of the present application, the main control unit determines the sending time of the first data, therefore there is no need for the addition of an SYNC protocol entity in a data source and a base station, thereby simplifying the synchronous transmission process. Further, the first data may be a part or all of the data in the first data packet; therefore, with respect to the data source time-stamping the first data packet, the first time information of the first data may be subdivided into a part of data in the first data packet, so that the granularity is smaller and the time information is more accurate.
