Abstract:

A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device obtains first information, the first information being used for the mobility management of a lifting/lowering track cell, and the first information being related to a latitude position; and the terminal device performs mobility management according to the first information. According to the method, in a lifting/lowering track cell scenario in a satellite network, mobility management does not need to be frequently performed along with frequency point switching of a lifting/lowering track, so that the mobility management efficiency of the terminal device can be improved, and the signaling overhead of a system can be reduced.
