Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first network device receiving from a second network device energy-saving information of M cells, and sending second request information to the second network device according to the energy-saving information of the M cells, wherein the second request information is used for requesting to add N cells from among the M cells into a secondary cell group of a terminal device. By using the method, a first network device can determine, according to energy-saving information of M cells of a second network device, whether to make a request to add the second network device as an auxiliary network device for a terminal device. In this way, when the first network device adds an auxiliary network device for the terminal device, the energy-saving information of cells managed by candidate auxiliary network devices is taken into consideration, thereby facilitating the addition of an appropriate network device as the auxiliary network device for the terminal device.
