Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and provides a communication method and apparatus, for use in solving the problem of data routing of a roaming terminal in edge computing. When a terminal roams to a VPLMN, an address assigned by an HPLMN of the terminal may conflict with addresses of the other terminals of the VPLMN. Therefore, an edge application service function can identify the terminal by means of a first identifier allocated by the VPLMN, or it can be understood that the edge application service function can determine, by means of the first identifier, that a first DNS query message corresponds to the terminal, so that the edge application service function can still identify the terminal in the case that the addresses may conflict with each other, thereby correctly processing the DNS query message of the terminal, realizing correct data routing, and facilitating the obtaining of an application service, for example, an edge service, by the terminal.
