Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: an edge configuration server receives a request message, the request message being used for requesting information of an edge enabler server, and comprising identifiers of first edge application servers; the edge configuration server determines a first edge enabler server according to state information of the plurality of first edge application servers, wherein the first edge application server corresponding to the first edge enabler server is in an instantiable-but-not-instantiated state; and the edge configuration server sends a response message, the response message comprising information of the first edge enabler server. Information of only one first edge enabler server is sent, such that the first edge application server on only the first edge enabler server may be instantiated, thereby avoiding the problem of resource waste of an edge data network caused by instantiating unnecessary edge application servers.
