Abstract:
A communication system that uses a multi-core fiber equipped with three or more nodes and provided with a plurality of cores in at least some of the inter-node-connecting intervals, wherein the nodes connected to the multi-core fiber are equipped with a connector which: inserts and branches a signal into/from a core exclusively assigned as a communication path between a given node and another node; and/or relays a signal, which is transmitted by a core assigned to communication between other nodes, between multi-core fibers connected to the given node. The relative positional relationship between the connection position of a core where the connector thereof branches or inserts a signal and the connection position of a core where the connector thereof relays a signal is the same for all nodes connected to the multi-core fiber.
