Abstract:
The present invention shortens the time required for a control apparatus to ascertain the topology of the whole network, and reduces the loads of transmission/reception of control information required to ascertain the topology. A communication system comprises a group of nodes constituted by a plurality of transfer nodes and by a control apparatus that controls the plurality of transfer nodes. Each of the plurality of transfer nodes holds, as a piece of first topology information, a connectional relationship between the local node and at least some of the group of nodes, and transmits the piece of first topology information to the control apparatus and also to those ones of the group of nodes which are adjacent to the local node. The control apparatus then generates a piece of second topology information by integrating the pieces of first topology information transmitted from the plurality of transfer nodes, determines, on the basis of the piece of second topology information, each of a plurality of paths from the control apparatus to a respective transfer node, and establishes a control channel to be used for controlling the respective transfer node along the determined path.
