Abstract:
This communication system includes a base station that serves an energy-saving cell and base stations that serve compensating cells. The energy-saving cell can switch between an on state and an off state. The compensating cells compensate for the coverage hole left by the energy-saving cell when said energy-saving cell is switched off. Before the compensating cells start coverage compensation, e.g. before a decision to switch the energy-saving cell off is made in step ST1201, e.g. in step ST2201, the base station serving the energy-saving cell sends information regarding the compensating cells, e.g. a compensating-cell list, to UEs that are connected to the energy-saving cell.
