Abstract:
A mode selection unit (30a, 30b) selects, as a mode for transmitting a signal via a transmission cable (2a, 2b), a differential mode and a common-phase mode, and amplifies the signal in each mode. A loss amount measurement unit (11a, 11b) detects a loss amount for each transmission mode in the transmission cable (2a, 2b) from a value when a test signal is received by a counterpart device. A gain switch unit (12a, 12b) adjusts an amplification rate for each transmission mode in the mode selection unit (30a, 30b) from the loss amount calculated by the loss amount measurement unit (11a, 11b).
