Abstract:
A communication terminal comprises a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit is located in a supply apparatus, which supplies an electric power from a power supply through a feeding line to an electric device, and performs communications with a terminal on the other end of communication that is located in the electric device. The control unit controls a switch, which is electrically connected to the feeding line, such that the switch is turned on and off. The feeding line comprises: a first line for performing an electrical connection between the power supply and the switch; and a second line for performing an electrical connection between the switch and the electric device. At least one of the communication unit and the terminal on the other end of communication is placed such that the at least one of the communication unit and the terminal on the other end of communication is spaced relative to a conductive member included in the feeding line, thereby electrically connecting the at least one of the communication unit and the terminal on the other end of communication to an electrode that is electric-field-coupled to the conductive member. The communication unit is configured to perform the communications with the terminal on the other end of communication by use of signals transmitted through the portion of the conductive member which is included in the second line. The control unit is configured to render the switch off during a communication period of time when the communication unit is communicating with the terminal on the other end of communication.
