Abstract:
Provided is a technology pertaining to, in a system for communication among multiple terminals, further reduction in power consumption by controlling the timing at which signals are transmitted and received among the multiple terminals. In an inter-terminal communication system (1), communication terminals (10A), (10B), (10C), and (10D) each perform time synchronization by means of time information included in a GPS signal received from a GPS satellite (92), and use the synchronized time as a reference to set a notification period during which a notification signal, such as a beacon signal, is to be transmitted and received. In the notification period, each of the terminals includes the information indicating the timing for signal transmission in a beacon signal and transmits that signal to another terminal. Each of the terminals has the function of relaying the inter-terminal communication that takes place among other terminals. A relay station is determined through sharing, among the respective terminals and through transmission and reception of the beacon signal, information such as position information and field intensity information of each of the terminals.
