Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compact augmented reality optical device having a collimator using a diffractive element and, more particularly, provides an augmented reality optical device comprising: a first optical element for transferring image light of a virtual image emitted from an image emitting portion to a second optical element; a second optical element for transferring image light of a virtual image transferred from the first optical element toward a user' pupils, thereby providing the user with the virtual image, the second optical element transmitting image light of an actual object emitted from an object in the real world and transferring same to the user's pupils; and an optical means on which the first optical element and the second optical element are disposed, the optical means transmitting image light of an actual object emitted from an actual object and transferring same toward the user's pupils. The optical means has a first surface through which light image of a virtual image and light image of an actual object transferred through the second optical element are emitted toward the user' pupils, and a second surface facing the first surface, light image of an actual image being incident onto the second surface. The first optical element is a refractive element and is buried in the optical means between the first and second surfaces thereof.
