In a feeder device (11), multiple feeder units (12) are detachably and individually attached in multiple slots of a feeder base (13). The feeder device (11) is detachably set in any of multiple slots provided on a feeder set base of a component mounting device. A component supply tape (14) is wound around a tape reel, which is detachably set in each feeder unit (12), and components on the component supply tape (14) are drawn out from the tape reels, attached by suction with a suction nozzle of the component mounting device, and are mounted onto a circuit substrate. By determining whether or not a connector of each slot of the feeder device (11) set in the feeder set base of the component mounting device is connected to a connector of a feeder unit (12), it can be recognized for each slot of the feeder base (13) whether or not a feeder unit (12) is present, and, for slots recognized as having a feeder unit, the feeder units (12) in said slots are used to continue production.
