Abstract:
An order quantity for each component is calculated so that an out-of-stock rate of each product does not exceed the allowable out-of-stock rate.
A component order quantity determination device comprises an input unit which receives input of the allowable out-of-stock rate, etc., for each product; a per-product information storage unit in which the allowable out-of-stock rate for each product is recorded; a constituent component information storage unit which stores information on constituent components and the number thereof for each product; a per-product demanded quantityinformation storage unit which stores information on a distribution of the demanded quantity for each product; a per-component order information storage unit which stores information on an order quantity for each component; a per component order information calculation unit which, for a calculation period, calculates a theoretical demanded quantity from the distribution of the demanded quantity of each product, calculates a required quantity of a constituent component by multiplying the calculated demanded quantity by the number, calculates an order quantity from the order quantity distribution of each component, calculates the out-of-stock rate of each product from the difference between the calculated order quantity and the required quantity, calculates the out-of-stock rate of each component so that the out-of-stock rate of each product does not exceed the allowable out-of-stock rate (this is done by changing the allowable out-of-stock rate of each component when the out-of-stock rate of each product exceeds the allowable out-of-stock rate), and determines the order quantity; and a display unit which displays the order quantity of each component.
