Abstract:
Provided is a component supporting structure that uses a retaining ring and in which, when a load is applied, indentations in the retaining ring do not easily occur, cracking is suppressed, and damage can be inhibited. The supporting structure is provided with: an outer component 10; an inner component 20; an annular groove 11; and a retaining ring 30 having a base part 35 that is inserted into the annular groove 11 and a receiving part 40 that projects to the outside of the annular groove 11. The inner component 20 is supported by a receiving surface 41, of the receiving part 40, positioned at one side in the axial direction of the receiving part 40. A surface of the base part 35 on the side opposite the receiving surface 41 when viewed from an axial direction A forms an engaging surface 37 that abuts a corresponding inner surface 13 of the annular groove 11. A surface 43 of the receiving part 40 on the side opposite the receiving surface 41 when viewed from the axial direction A is positioned further to the receiving surface 41 side than the engaging surface 37.
