Abstract:
A discoloration preventing cloth capable of minimizing the temporary discoloration thereof when it contacts rainwater and sweat. This cloth is a composite knit or woven fabric of white pigment-containing yarn and water absorptive and diffusive fiber yarn consisting of a core-sheath composite fiber yarn which comprises synthetic fiber yarn having a white pigment content of not less than 1 wt.% and not more than 6 wt.% and/or a core having a white pigment content of not less than 3 wt.% and not more than 15 wt.%, and a sheath having a white pigment content of not more than 2 wt.%. The composite cloth is formed of a knit or woven fabric of a structure in which at least 40 % of an upper surface comprises white pigment-containing fibers, whereby a discoloration preventing effect is displayed. The water absorptive and diffusive yarn in use preferably comprises fiber yarn of a modified cross-sectional shape having a large water diffusing effect. This discoloration preventing cloth is suitably used as a raw material for knit or woven fabric clothes dyed in a light to intermediate color.
