Abstract:
The composite elongated member (center pillar) comprises: a main member (pillar outer panel) 1 that curves in the length direction and has a cross-section orthogonal to the length direction that protrudes to the outer side of the curvature; and a reinforcement member 2 formed from a fiber-reinforced resin (CFRP), disposed on the inner side of the main member 1 curvature, and within the cross-section of the main member 1. An end 2a of the reinforcement member 2 is adhered to one end side of the main member 1 and another end 2a of the reinforcement member 2 is adhered to another end side of the main member 1. A middle section 2b between the one end 2a and the other end 2a of the reinforcement member 2 is provided so as to extend in a straight line in the interior of the cross section of the main member 1.
