The present application provides a composite metal oxide material and a preparation method therefor, a positive pole piece, a secondary battery, a battery module, a battery pack, and an electrical apparatus. The composite metal oxide material comprises a central core and a coating layer on a surface of the central core. A chemical formula for a material of the central core is Li5FexM1-xO4, 0.6 ≤ x < 1, and a chemical formula for a material of the coating layer is LiMO2, M being one or more metal elements having a valence of +3, and an absolute value of a difference between a radius of a +3-valence ion of Fe and a radius of a +3-valence ion of M being less than or equal to 0.02 nm. The composite metal oxide material of the present application can cause a secondary battery to have high charge capacity, high discharge capacity and a long cycle life.
