Abstract:
A composite spun yarn 20 with long and short fibers composed of multifilament yarns and short fiber bundles, wherein twisting together multifilament yarns 22 in an essentially untwisted state with short fiber bundles results in: the number of twists of the multifilament yarns being essentially the same as that of the composite spun yarn 20 with long and short fibers; and the constituent fibers 22 of the untwisted multifilament yarns and the constituent fibers 21 of the short fiber bundles being mutually dispersed and continuous in the longitudinal direction. The multifilament yarns are preferred to be of at least one type selected from false twist crimped yarns, stuffer box crimped yarns, gear crimped yarns, knit de-knit crimped yarns, and bicomponent fiber-containing latent crimp yarns.
