Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a coating material composition capable of providing a coating film that has water repellency and resists hard water marks. The present invention provides a composition for a coating material, said composition containing a siloxane-group-containing polymer (A) and a crosslinking agent (B), wherein: the siloxane-group-containing polymer (A) is a block copolymer that contains a block A and a block B; the block A contains at least a structural unit derived from a siloxane-group-containing vinyl monomer (a); the block B contains a structural unit derived from a hydroxyl-group-containing vinyl monomer (b) and, if necessary, a structural unit derived from another vinyl monomer (c) that can be copolymerized with the vinyl monomers (a) and (b); the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is 2.0 or less; and the copolymer is polymerized through living radical polymerization and exhibits a dynamic glass transition temperature of 100-300°C at a heating rate of 2°C/minute and a frequency of 8 Hz during curing.
